Each covers eight lakes, four mountain passes, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Surprise View, Ashness Bridge and the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. The The 10 Lakes Full-day Tour runs 9:00am–6:00pm at £169 per person and covers ten lakes, four passes, Honister Slate Mine, Moss Force, a Keswick lunch hour and a one-hour Ullswater Steamers cruise, ticket included. Every tour carries a maximum of seven guests, with live commentary throughout.
We collect in fixed order from three points: Windermere Station (9:00am morning / 2:00pm afternoon), Bowness Pier 1 (9:10 / 2:10), and Ambleside library on Kelsick Road (9:25 / 2:25). Drop-off runs in reverse at the end of the day. All three points work without a car — Windermere station connects to the West Coast Main Line at Oxenholme, and for morning tours the 8:42am arrival connects comfortably with the 9:00am departure. Tours run in almost all weathers — this is the Lake District, and the landscape performs in rain as well as sun; the waterfalls, in fact, prefer it. In the rare case of genuinely extreme weather we contact you the evening before, with a full refund or transfer offered. Bring layers whatever the month (the pass summits run cooler than the lakeshores), something waterproof, comfortable shoes and a charged phone or camera. There is no dress code and no fitness requirement: stops are generally a few steps from the vehicle.
Children are welcome on all scenic tours — the pub-quiz facts, the gingerbread stop and the stone circle land particularly well with them — and the seven-seat format means a family group often has the vehicle largely to itself.
