This is what makes a private tour right for a significant occasion — and this guide explains how to make the most of one.
Significant birthdays — 50th, 60th, 70th. A day in the Lake District with a guide who has prepared specifically for the guest of honour, in a vehicle with the people they most want to spend the day with. More personal than a restaurant; more active than a hotel.
Wedding anniversaries — particularly milestone anniversaries where the occasion warrants something substantial. A private tour gives a couple or a small group an experience that belongs entirely to them.

Booking in advance is recommended, particularly for peak summer and bank holidays. Bespoke tours — where the route is built around specific interests rather than our standard itineraries — require a conversation in advance and a planning deposit.
We are consistently told two things about private occasion tours. First, that the intimacy of the format — the expert storyteller's undivided attention, the small group, the vehicle that is yours alone — makes the day feel genuinely personal in a way that other celebration experiences do not.
