The hotel holds one Michelin Key, awarded separately from the restaurant's star, and is a member of Relais & Châteaux.
An hour and a half from Windermere. That is the whole story. Farlam Hall is genuinely Cumbria, but it is Hadrian's Wall Cumbria rather than lake Cumbria, and the two do not overlap in a single day.
What it is excellent for is a second leg. Plenty of visitors pair the Lakes with the Roman Wall, and if that is your trip, Farlam Hall is very well placed and the combination of a Key and a Star in one house makes it an easy choice for the night.
